To what magnitude the laptop will affect the life of a child?

The well thought hope is that the next generation of kids in developing nations gets to know how to use computers and having the same skills sets as children in developed nations. The laptops would be used as tools for social interaction and learning as kids all over the world start to communicate.
The kids will be connected to vast amount of information that is currently unavailable to them which will eventually stimulate their interest in looking further, not waiting for some teacher or an adult.
It hopes also to provide games to help children learn about programming video games and since it’s title is open source, kids can dig around in the code and get an understanding of the mechanics of the games.
