In January of each year, the Horizon Interactive Awards receives hundreds of entries from all over the world. A panel of industry professionals, from diverse multi-media, graphic design and marketing backgrounds, review the entries to determine the work that is to be recognized. Entries are given either a Gold, Silver, or Bronze award distinction. All Gold winners can be eligible for the Best of Category. Here is the example of Motiongraphx website that has received the award of Best of Category. This winning entry has demonstrated excellence in creative concept, artistic excellence, and technical execution.

Compared to what you will be able to see on the website of Motiongraphx you will notice that my comments attached below are a bit different. Actually, the website of Motiongraphx helped me to imagine what the internet and its websites may look like in the future. Thanks to our class of storytelling I have been able to explain my thoughts from a story. Here it is...

While getting access to the website of Motiongraphx, Jean, a dynamic woman in her thirty-fifth year, realizes how websites have changed over the last 10 years. She remembers how slow the speed of use was sometimes when there were problems of bandwidth in her neighborhood, how upset she was when she could not get access to her favorite websites because she used to forget to pay her monthly internet subscription, and how hard it was sometimes to find information or to simply use websites because of her lack of knowledge in technology. Now, she can smile while thinking of this past time because today she just needs to put her face front of the screen of her computer to get into the free world wide web. The screen detects her presence and brings her to the websites that she mentions with the sound of her voice. She likes the website of Motiongraphx because its designers have really understood the internet surfers’ needs. The website works with her virtual glasses. She just needs to wear them, relax and enjoy her virtual trip. By wearing the glasses she is completely transferred to a 3-D world, the one of the website of Motiongraphx. There she can walk around and choose the options that come to her while asking questions that are related to what she is looking for. She likes the background of the website of Motiongraphx because it is soft to look at and reminds her of the cartoons she watched when she was still a child. Thanks to invisible detectors the place also emits a smell that she thinks is exactly appropriate to her emotions at that moment. She is glad to be able to “live” fully this interaction with the website. The virtual world looks like the real one. The only separation between them is Jean’s glasses.

Jean is amazed how easy it is to use this website. For instance, when she wants to send an email to Motiongraphx she just needs to ask for it, touch the option with a hand, and starts saying what she wants to write. A big screen appears front of her within a second and shows her the sentences that she is saying. Once she has finished to dictate her email, a pleasant and soft voice asks her if she is satisfied with it and then confirm that the message has been sent successfully.'That is all she needs to do with the website today but she wishes to have more time to spend inside. Unfortunately, information technology has not discovered yet how to slow down the time. She takes off her glasses and comes back to the real world. Next time, she will go back to the website to know more about the “quality know how” of Motiongraphx because she may be interested in creating her own website similar to the one of this company...
