The overall responsibility for safety in the workplace rests with the Department Head with the cooperation and support of the Departmental Safety Officer, office manager, and supervisors. A safe working environment contributes positively to office morale and productivity.

The most significant contributions to safety in the workplace are:
Housekeeping, Fire Safety, Use of Electrical Equipment and Machines, Movement in the Office, Lifting and Carrying, Storage and Filing, Reaching for High Places, Cuts by Sharp Objects, Burns and Scalds, Use of Chemicals, Working Postures, Problems and Precautions for Working with Computers, etc.
