Is the regular television communication channel going to be entirely digital?

Following current trends, digital television is certainly getting a higher share on the television market, and provides lots of advantages over regular television: better quality of picture and sound (even better when HDTV is used), more available content, time-shifting of films, and more interactive content. Analog television broadcasts will be discontinued in the US in 2009, and from that point onwards other countries are likely to follow, making it highly likely that all television broadcasts are digital by 2015.
