Is Russia an autocracy?

Despite the financial crisis, people enjoy a lot more freedom and a lot more prosperity than they did 15 years ago, but there's a deep-seated insecurity among Russians that it could all -- the money, the freedom -- come to an end.

Political and economic power in Russia appears to be highly concentrated. Furthermore, there appear to be strong links between the political and business elite. In this sense Russia is an autocracy since real power is concentrated in relatively few hands.
