IT experts opinion on Second Life?

Opinions on SL are pretty broad at the moment. Just as it was at the beginning of the Internet, people don’t know what to expect from Second Life yet. While some experts think SL is the future of browsing the internet, others are a bit more skeptic and think it is just a fad that will blow over soon. The amount of pornography and gambling in SL is also one of the reasons some experts think it will not take off as a serious medium.

Some experts think just the opposite. They see SL as an ideal medium to share information and meet new people in a community based scenario. An example of that is IBM who is investing a lot of money to be active in SL.
