Hidden personality; what are the advantages, what are the risks?

The users of Second Life are not required to introduce their real personality. Hidden personality makes it much difficult to track and eliminate the crime behaviors. Users are free to hide truth about their gender, age, occupation, nationality. Made up personality can be used to manipulate and abuse other users.

There are also some advantages. People can pass the limitations of age and gender. They can be young, successful, popular. Join the communities and meet people they would not be able to communicate with in real life. Hidden personality can be also kind of protection. Other users can get in tough with you only if you let them (give your address, telephone number etc.)
