These recent developments are making the use of internet sometimes unsafe. Although the most large companies have secure sites, there will be a group of script kiddies or hackers that are trying to get personal or private information from people via the internet.
With upcoming online solutions as banking, paying, phoning people are getting more and more vulnerable. Without a glitch people are sharing information with each other by email or online communities. Webshops are rising like the sun and every day people buy goods at these shops. The most form of payment is via Pay-Pal and creditcard. These connections are 99% of the time secure but the information is of great value.
Not only stealing information like creditcard numbers or account details is cybercrime related. Cybercrime is a word that covers much more like: online abuse, exchange of illegal pictures, exchange of illegal music, illegal downloads. Most of the countries in the world are now trying to stop cybercrime but it still does not slow down. At this time there are only a few figures about cybercrime and these can not be publicly accessed.
As the digital highway is getting bigger and bigger, criminals are searching for many possible solutions to get private or secure information which they can use or sell. The most used types of crime are: phishing, hacking, scripting, malicious code and spamming
