Continuous war in the underdeveloped countries
Social driving force of The Future of Technology in Secondary Education in 2020
Description:
We see lots of cases in which during the war severe insecurity and the continued recruitment of child soldiers affect their regular secondary education. The continuous wars which are occurring in the underdeveloped countries certainly have a big impact on the secondary education in these countries. Most of these countries have limited or no secondary education. Therefore, children in these countries are not getting the education necessary in order to improve their capabilities, and so progress. Because of the continuous war, the government cannot give its attention to rebuilding and improving the society and education.
Enablers:
- Competition for increasingly scarce resources, especially oil
- International Islamic terrorism
- Increasing socio-economic divisions and the marginalization of the majority world cause tensions such as West (Judeo-Christian) vs. Islam, China vs. Taiwan, North Korea vs. US, Poor nations (mainly in Africa) vs. wealthy nations, Local tribes and peoples vs. Western private companies using local resources, Russia vs. former Muslim republics
- Further spread of military technologies and weapons of mass destruction (Chemical, Biological, Atomic)
- Blood diamonds
- Corrupt government
Inhibitors:
- Adjust global systems of trade, aid and debt to reduce poverty.
- Use smarter counter-terrorism police operations against violent revolutionary groups and make dialogue with terrorist leaderships.
- Relieve and assistance from charity organizations and the UN
Paradigms:
Because of all the enablers mentioned, wars in the underdeveloped countries continue to happen. If these wars continue to happen, this could even lead to a third world war. Therefore it is necessary for the government of these countries to realize the consequences of these wars and take action. The people themselves need to be aware of the different opportunities there are instead of just war. Therefore spreading knowledge to these people is essential.
