In te outward identity, the people of Europe have a distinct collective cultural identity. It asserts that the inhabitants of Europe, and particularly the citizens of the European Union are in the process of developing a collective identity — one which will diminish any existing political and cultural barriers. Similar terms that may imply a value judgment are Europhilia and Eurooptimism.
