Statement
Working at home is still not really being used on a large scale.

Driving Force
On a yearly bases companies in the Netherlands pay around 12 billion euro to get people from and to meetings. Companies like employees to participate meetings in person “Face-to-Face” rather than via a telephone call or a video conference over the internet. It’s not only the companies it’s also a large groups of employees who prefer standing in the traffic jam rather than doing the meetings with a conference call. With the globalization of businesses new forms of communications are getting more and more important. From the 33% of the employees who have a job which allows them to work at home, the managers allow around 75%.
Some of the big advantages are of working at home and participating conferences online or via telephone are:

  • Less cars is good for nature.
  • It will costs less time. Time is money.
  • Less cars is less traffic jam. Good social goal.
  • Companies pay 12 billion euro to get people to and from meetings. No more travel costs
