Virtually any kind of digital device can be connected to the Internet, e.g. computers, cell phones, PDAs, gaming consoles etc. It's even possible for household appliances to connect to the Internet. An example of that is the digital or cyber-home. In such a home all digital devices are linked to each other and have access to the Internet, like the fridge that uses the Internet to order groceries.
The Internet is becoming a more important part of our life each day and affects it in ways that until recently were unimaginable.
