In any long term political decision on a country level public support has a very important role in most of the countries. It becomes even more important in a case of long/unsuccessful negotiations with other involved parties since during time people start showing impatience and their trust in political parties reduces.
Enablers:
1. Media. 2. Successful negotiations. 3. Increasing importance of the target issue.
Inhibitors:
1. Unpleasant consequences. 2. More important issues. 3. Long negotiations.
Paradigms:
Without public support in most European, North American and some other countries it will be very almost impossible to make long-term decision with a strong consequences. Lack of public support could also lead to the elimination of long-going negotiations even in a a case of very important matter.
