Enabler
- Research and Development: Physicists.
- Things getting smaller and smaller.
- Moore law.
- Power Electronics Circuit.
- Demand if Longer life time.
- Mechanical Engineer and designer.
Inhibitor
- Nanotechnology is not yet mature.
- High cost investment.
- Changing the behavior of the original materials.
- Energy problem.
- Heating Problem.
Paradigm
- The laptop becomes more dust proof, antiseptic, moisture proof and shock proof. It means that the usage of the environment conditions become broader.
- The differences of the laptop and micro-computer become more difficult to define.

Timing
- 1980: Two major developmentsof birth of cluster science and the invention of the scanning tunneling microscope (STM).
- 1986: The discovery of fullerenes and carbon nanotubes a few years later. In another development, the synthesis and properties of semiconductor nanocrystals were studied. This led to a fast increasing number of semiconductor nanoparticles of quantum dots.
