Object of The Future
On Demand Computing
The increasing demand for mobility and flexibility have changed the customers preferences. The increasing popularity of notebooks, PDAs, USB sticks and changing character of mobile phones like smart phones justify this evolution. Another trend is the increasing amount of application / programes used by customers. Everyone is nowadays used to carry data in one or other medium. The century of information reflects the importance of this process. The main challenge for in the future is not only how to carry data but how to make data and required applications accessible at any time & any where.
What is it?
The phenomenon "on demand computing" or utility computing is "a business model whereby a service provider makes available computer resources to their clients and charges them for the usage rather than the hardware"(wikipedia.org). It can be compared with electric company who charges u for its services based on usage, computing resources are metered and user get charged on that basis.
