What is the life span of the laptop?

Normally, the life cycle of the laptops could be four years for us. And we will update them after that. However, as to the students in poor area, they will keep using them until the laptops are break down. In this way, the life span of the laptop should be around 7 years. Further more, the children do not know how to maintain these devices properly. Five years of their life span could be reasonable.
