The nature of divided penninsula between North and South Korea
1. Description
It is important to remember that the very reason of north/south separation is due to foreign forces. Upon the demolition of Japanese rule after the World War II, the U.S and Russia acquired their respective parts of Korean peninsula. From that moment, north/south Korea grew different political views, economical structure and atmosphere. Such situation created tension between north/south and south Korea had to depend on the U.S army for security. Also in economical aspect, the separation limited the land usage of peninsula forcing south Korea to focus on alternative industries such as exporting/IT. Current issue of north Korea’s nuclear weapon also is a result of the separation as their economy could not find an exit elsewhere. It is very clear that the separation played major role in Korean peninsula’s fate and was the driving force of significant events.

If current status of separation continues, the U.S’s influence would remain strong. With such strong ties with the U.S, current hardship of U.S economy could affect Korean economy drastically. Also north Korea’s stubborn position to keep the nuclear weapon could create tension and pressure to the Korean peninsula.
