How much government support is provided for R&D and for new fuels?

Governments are investing more and more inprojects for alternative energy sources. The EU formed an platform called the European Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology Platform. The platformis aiming to increase its budget for research to Euro 250 million a year, more than double. President Bush announced in his 2003 state of the union to invest $ 1.2 billion in Hydrogen fuel technology.
