- Schools that currently make use of tablet computing and for which subjects/classes/purposes?
Several schools around the world have begun to pilot programs using Tablets in the classroom. The following source lists a few examples:
These schools make use of tablets for traditional subject learning, as well as location-based learning. Many schools use the tablet in place of a projector, for demonstrating ideas to students.
In some schools, tablets have essentially replaced the need for paper. As an example, Northern Lights Public School, Ontario eighth grade teacher states "...about 90 percent of math, science, and language classes and 100 percent of history courses are conducted using the Tablet PC" (Reid, 2004)
In addition, organizations have developed to facilitate Tablet use in schools, such as Learn Tech Solutions (http://www.learntechsolutions.com/index.html).
