In what situations is a mobile device used?

Generally speaking, people use mobile for three reasons: telephone, portable media player, application specific devices (PDF). According to a survey took in 2005, picture-taking, location-specific information and TV streaming were among the most popular functions. The specific data is listed as follows:

As the development of Internet, nowadays more and more mobile device users use more functions provided by wireless network. One of the world's most authoritative mobile media measurement firm M:Metrics lead a benchmark Survey in February, 2008. From that survey, we can find the hotest functions used by Mobile subscribers.
